If there were to be a gas leak in my house I would want to try to set the water on fire, although my parents would not want me to do something that stupid. We would call a house gas leak expert and have them come out and fix it while we book it to a friends house and leave the guy at home so that we don't get blown up but he does. I hope that I don't have to worry about a gas leak in my house but you never know. I would be scared and would probably be praying that my house doesn't blow up. Like I said I would try to set the water on fire once (only if my parents say yes) but other than that i would not do it again.

If this were my situation, the first thing I would do is to have someone from a natural gas company come out and see what kind of gas it was and if it were harmfull or not. Then, I would request an X-Ray of the earth beneath my property to see how much gas was in the pocket. Depending on the condition of my house, if I liked my daily commute or not, and if I liked my neighborhood, I would see if the Zone was right. If the company could use the ground to collect the gas, I would see if they had an offer and if the price was right, I would sell. My reasoning behind this is that around the midwest area, there are 4 seasons and in the fall and winter months, natural gas is always in demand to heat our houses. The gas company might say that there was not enough gas down there to make profit off of it, and in that case i would simply have someone fix the gas which was coming into my sink.

If I had a natural gas well on my property and it leaked into my house I would have a professional come and fix the problem or see what it is. If the situation was bad I would move off of my property or see if there was any way to fix the leak. I would try to do whats best so I would not have to move away from the city but if it was too bad I would try to have the ground checked out better to see if the gas pocket could end up affecting the whole city so no one would get harmed.
ReplyDeleteIf this situation happened in my house, I would get out of the house immediately. You probably wouldn't know what kind of gas it is or if it is harmful. Also, your entire house could be getting filled with gas and a small spark could blow up your entire house. Second, I would call 911. They would probably open the windows and doors to ventilate the house. I would also call my neighbors because the gas coming up through the well may be going into my neighbors houses as well. Then,I would want someone to come and test to see why it is happening and what kind of gas is coming up from the ground. They may tell me that I need to open a new well. After I know what is happening and if I know if there may potentially be a large amount of gas, I would call a natural gas company to see if they would want to pay to get the gas.

ReplyDeleteI would have a gas guy come out as soon as possible. You never know who in your house would digest it! And if you were to cook with the water, who knows what would happen!!I would then try to warn all the other houses of the same water supply system. Then I would go to my grandma's house and stay there as long as possible until the problem was fixed. There is only so long you can go until you need clean, running water!
ReplyDeleteThe government really needs to adress this issue and find another way to get the gas. Before somebody really gets hurt. But I would still do the water and fire thing once before the gas guy comes out:)PS: my computer is weird and deleted the other comment.

ReplyDeleteIf a gas leak occured in my sink I would first get everybody out of the house just in case of a worst case scenrio. Next I would call the fire department or our gas company to assess the situation and turn off the gas coming into the house. I would have them find the problem, and when they identify the problem I would ask what caused it. I also would want to know how much it's going to cost to fix the leak, and see if they ever had a situation like this before. I would ask how long is it going to take to fix the gas leak to see when I could move back into the house, or if I need to contact a relative to move in for a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteIf this happened in my house I would contact an expert or professional on the subject to see if the gas was harmful to me or my family. You never know it could be some gas that is completely harmless or some chemical hazard that was used in chemical warfare by the Nazis. So I would try to be carefull. I would not light it because I would be to scared and chicken out. But i would also look at this as a good thing because if it was valuable i could sell it and it would be my ticket out of Prescott once and for all!
ReplyDeleteLuke Thompson
If this type of situation occured in my house where if I put a match up to my running tap water and it starting on fire, I would first call an expert on natural gas. This water is suppose to be safe to consume and something about water with gas in it doesn't sound safe to me. If the gas professional says the gas isn't harmful I would still remain living in that home, but I would want someone from the gas company to do anything in their power to get the gas out of the water. If the gas is harmful I wouldn't mess around with the situation and move out instead of putting the rest of my family and me in danger.
ReplyDeleteIf i was in this situation that this guy was in i would call the well guy or who ever keeps my water good to drink and say hey my water should not light on fire if I put a match next to it then i would say to them you need to fix it or buy me a lot of water bottles other wise i am going to sue because i need to be able to drink water that i am paying for. ( If they gave me water bottles then I would show my friends that water is really flammable, and they would try it at there house and it wouldn't work.)

ReplyDeleteIf that were to happen in my house I would defiantly leave the house and rent out a hotel room. After calling 911 and informing my neighbors, of course. I would do a little research online and find out the source of my flammable drinking water. If it was the water company's fault. I would attempt a lawsuit for the water in which I paid but was not able to drink. Otherwise I would just go on with my life.

ReplyDeleteIf there was a gas leak in my house I would probaly have someone fix. If they couldnt I would probaly move because I would be to scared to keep on living there. What if in the middle of the night your house blew up along with the neighbors homes? But I also probaly couldnt move if they couldn't fix it because who would want a house with a gas leak? And if I wanted to fix it, it would be expensive but defintley worth it. It would be a difficult situation that I would have to live with.
ReplyDeleteKaylyn Moffat
If there was gas in the water at my house I would play with the water for a while then go get help from people who can fix the problem because I dont know how to fix the problem.
ReplyDeleteIf I found a way to light water on fire, I'd definitely be confused as to how this kind of thing managed to work it's way into tap water. Health and safety officials would defnitely be freaking out over this. If this contamination was widespread, there would certainly be more housefires than ever before, if there was a hot object or combustible item in the vicinity. No doubt that this is extremely dangerous and could very possibly be harnessed as a dangerous weapon.
ReplyDeleteIf this happened to me I would be ferious that I have to pay for water that isnt even safe to drink. I would call the police and ask them to fix it or how to fix it. Than I would inform my neighbors and than get it fixed as soon as I can.
ReplyDelete~Austin Odalen
After telling my friends (because it looks so cool), I would definitely have someone come and fix it. In the mean time, instead of using the tap, I would buy distilled water and purified water bottles for drinking. Instead of using the tap for washing dishes, I would buy Styrofoam dishes and plastic silverware. And instead of washing my clothes in my own washing machine, I would bring them to the Laundromat.
ReplyDeleteJonah Jensen
If this happened at my house, I would call the city of Prescott to come fix it so it would not cause anymore damage. I would put something over the faucet just in case the gas was / started leaking out of the faucet; it could be harmful. I would tell my mom to buy water, and depend on her to figure out the rest.
ReplyDelete-Kaley Anderson.
If this had happened to me, I would definately want to tell anyone living by me, or sharing the same water source about the danger that threatens our community because I wouldn't want to risk anyone else getting hurt. Once I told them, then I would tell the city and let them take care of the problem. I would buy bottled water and wait until it is safe to use the water.
ReplyDeletePeter DeVol
If this situation happened in my house, I would contact someone to have them try and help me, or try and get someone out to my house as soon as possible. I would be worried about my house because you wouldn't know if the gas was harmful. If the gas was harmful I would not use the water for anything. I would go and buy distilled water. I would also contact my neighbors and explain the situation to them and have them check to see if they have the same problem, and hopefully get it fixed as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteRylee Choate
If this happend in my house I think I would first start researching to find out if it has happend before to others, and to see who to call. If I couldn't find that out I think I would call the neighbors to see if it was happening to them. Since I wouldn't know what gas it was I would also see if we would have to evacuate while figuring out the problem. I would call whoever takes care of or built the well to see what to do and if it is dangerous.
ReplyDelete~Ashley P.
If this happend in my house I think I would first call someone to get to my house as soon as possible to check out the situation. Than I would call everyone that lives near me and see if something similar was happening to them. I would try to get it fixed as soon as possible but in the mean time I would buy distilled water to drink, use for cooking and other things just incase the gas was harmful.
ReplyDeleteBailey Johnson
If I had that problem I would not want to drink the tap water. I might freak out a little. Maybe I would go to the city hall to see if this happend to anyone else in my area. Doing reaserch like this might help me figure out what kind of gas it is and if it is a health or saftey hasard.I wouldnt want anything bad to happen to me or my family.
ReplyDelete~Emily G.~
If this situation were to occur in my house I would immediately evacuate my house because you would not know if the gas is a dangerous gas. After I had gotten out of my house I would then call someone maybe from the gas company or maybe even 911 to check out the situation. If it were a deadly gas I would not go back into my house until it was safe. If the gas was not deadly I would go back into my house but I would not use the water until it was safe. And I would also contact my neighbors to warn them and ask them if this kind of situation was occuring in their house as well.
ReplyDelete~Allison H.
If this problem would happen to my house i would first try to find someone to help me fix the problem.then i would make sure no one would drink the water accidently because it would be really dangerous. next i would start calling neighbors and friends to see if the same problem was happening to them. and finally i would try to find the cause of the problem so i could tell people what not to do to prevent it from happening to them or to my house again.
ReplyDeleteEvan Bayer
If this were to happen to my house I would start the water on fire because that is really neat. After messing around with the water I would show my family and get a person to solve this problem. We would probably have to leave the house and we would have to be at a hotel. When it is finally all sorted out we could go back to the house. -Justin Jorke
ReplyDeleteIf this were to happen in my house I would warn my family and call the gas company and have them check it out. While this was happening we would probably go live somewhere else until the gas leak was fixed. We would also warn are neighbors about this problem. Because it may be a gas leak in a pipeline routed to many different houses, which would be very dangerous. There could easily be an explosion just by the light of a candle.
ReplyDeleteIf the drinking water in my house was flammable, I would probably have some fun with lighting it on fire. Then I would try to do some pretty idiotic things. after I had my fun, I would try to find out if it was something that was caused by the water company. If so, i would ask other people who get water from the same company if it was happening to them. If it wasn't, I would file a lawsuit against them. While the problem would be in the process of being fixed, I would stay at a motel, just in case they're harmful substances in the water
ReplyDeleteIf this happened in my house I would immediately research who to call for this type of problem. I would also try and find out what type of gas it is and if it is dangerous. I would want to get it fixed as soon as possible because I don't want anybody to get hurt. Lastly, I would contact all my neighbors to tell them to get their wells checked out because of what happend to mine.
ReplyDelete-Emily Westphal
If there was a gas leak in the water at my house I would call the gas man and the fire department, and then leave and go some where the water is safe the use to cook and drink. Because if you were to light a candle your house could explode. I also would tell everyone that there in a bad smelling gas in the water. -Alex DeYoung
ReplyDeleteIf this were to happen in my house I would be shocked and a bit scared. I would most likely play with lighting the water on fire and record a video of myself and others doing that and put it on youtube like these people did. I would then call someone who was an expert on the subject and have them check it out. I also would tell the people who live around me that this was happening and only use and drink bottled water.
ReplyDeleteAngie Lackner
If this situation happened in my house, I would first call an expert on natural gas. If I could put a match up to my running tap water and start it on fire I would know something is wrong. But I also would never think of doing that. Tap water is suppose to be safe to consume and gas in the water doesn’t seem safe to me. If the gas professional says the gas isn't harmful I would still remain living in that home, but I would want someone from the gas company to do anything to get the gas out of the water. If the gas is harmful I wouldn't mess around with the situation and move out because it would be dangerous and could spread all over and infect the city of Prescott.
ReplyDelete~Haley Ditzler
If there would happen to be a gas leak in my house i would make sure my family and i would get out of the house in case the gas would cause an explosion. Then i would immediatyly call the local gas company or the fire department using my home phone or a neighbors phone instead of a cell because that may trigger a spark.i would also make sure i had turned the tv and all lights and lamps off in case of causing a spark. Hopefully the gas company or the fire department would arrive quickly so we would be able to put an end to the gas and we would hopefully then find out what kind of gas this is so i could alert my neighbors of the gas leak in case they were needed to evacuate there homes.-Olivia Rohl
ReplyDeleteHonestly if I had naural gas coming out of my sink faucet I would take action to have profesionals fix the problem, but I would also show many people the "flammable water" just because it is odd. If my house was deemed safe to live in then I would most likely continue to live there, but if I was given the opportunity to move I would. I would also do what the owners of this house did and make a movie/video of the natural gas leak to show people what is happening in my own home, and could possily happen to them if they happen to buy a home with this same problem.
ReplyDelete-Sarah Hall
If I were to have natural gas coming out of my faucet I would immediately call people who know what they are doing to come and fix the problem. Obviously, flammable water is not safe and could cause a fire or an explosion, which puts my families and my lives in danger. If the problem could not be fixed I would most likely leave my home and go on to live somewhere else.
ReplyDelete-Annie Pryor
If there was a gas leak into my water. I would immediately call the City, Sewer & Water Department. I would ask them the following questions: What caused this to happen? When did it happen? How long will it take to be fixed? If I cooked food or drank the water before I found out, Will I be alright? Will my pets be alright if they drank it? What steps are being taken to insure the safety of my family & friends. If I incur any costs will the City be willing to reimburse my expenses?
ReplyDeleteIf this problem happened at my house I would first make sure that no one in my family had drank the water in case it was contaminated. Then I would call a natural gas company or maybe 911 to check the water and the problem with the well, and if something bad was in the water I would probably evacuate my house. I would also call my neighbors to see if the same problem had occured with their water.
ReplyDeleteAmanda Murphy
If there was a gas leak that started on fire in my sink I would probably be really freaked out. I would then probably call my neighbors and ask them if thats been happening to them too. After that I would call 911 and see if they could help or knew what to do and how to fix it. After that I would move out of my house for awhile until I knew it was safe and that someone fixed it and found out what was wrong.
ReplyDelete~McKenzie Willner
If this problem happened in my house I would freak out and call somebody who would be able to fix it! I would try to find out how long it had been like that and make sure no one in my family had drank some of this harmful gas. After the people came to check it out i would call my neighbors to make sure they are aware of what happened at my house and so they can check their water as well. Then....I would lite the water on fire a few times because when have you ever seen water start on fire!? After that I would leave my house.
ReplyDeleteAnna Weiser
If a gas leaked like this into my water I would call the city water department to see what was going on and what to do about it. Then I would tell everyone in my family and anyone that came to my house not to drink the water because they would probably get very sick. Then I would probably go to my neighbors house or text one of my friends to see if they were having the same problem as I was. then I would start doing a whole bunch of experiments and light things on fire with it and probably end up burning my house down and getting a spanking.
ReplyDeleteToby Lillie
If there was a gas problem like this in my house, I would definitely be concerned for the safety of my family and friends. if someone were to drink that who knows what would happen? They could get sick or even die. The first action I would take would be to contact the city or even the state to have this problem resolved. On the other hand it could be a good fire starter to a fire outdoors and during the winter to keep warm(would most likely light their house on fire in the process), but I doubt anybody in the right mind would even consider using that stuff in their house for anything other than amusement. I'm referring to lighting the faucet water on fire. I know I would be doing it. Despite the ingorance a normal teenager would show in the presence of this stuff it is definitely not safe and should be taken care of.
ReplyDeleteIf there was a gas leak i would call the people that are in charged of the sewer and tell them that there is something wrong with the water after that i will tell everyone that there is a gas leak in the water so dont drink it so they wont get sick and to keep open flames away from anything that had water coming from it then i would go somewhere that is safe just in case something goes wrong.
ReplyDeleteIf this were to happen at my house I would first make sure to call someone to test our water. Secondly I would inform my family of the problem and make sure no one had drank the water. Next, I would contact everyone that lived in our same general area and tell them that the water was not good. Lastly, I would have everyone in my house leave and go somewhere else until the problem has been fixed.
ReplyDeleteIf this situation happened at my house I would first see if any of my family members has drank the contaminated water. Then I would call someone who knows what they are doing. I would also contact the neighbors and warn them about the water. The last thing I would do is have everyone evacuate the house until the problem is fixed because you never know what danger could come with this.
ReplyDeleteMariah Krings
if this happened to my house i would call 911 and tell them my water is on fire. Then i would call my mom and tell her that the water is on fire also. then i would most likely grab a lighter and do the same thing this guy did and start it on fire like a million times because it loooks very entertaining. then i would i would shoow the neihbor kids how to do it because there mom dosent like me. `~~Ryan conway~~
ReplyDeleteWell the first thing I would do in this situation is tell the rest of my family about the problem to make sure none of them had drinken the contaminated water. Then if they had drinken the water the next step would be to make sure they got the right medical attention they needed. Next I would contact a professional to tell them about the incident and hope that they would be able to fix it properly. Lastly I would let my neighbors know about what had happened so that they would be aware of the situation.
ReplyDeleteOlivia Simon
If this would happen to my house. I would Call 911 and make sure nobody drank the water. Then I would ask them how to get rid of the gas in the water and see how much it would cost to get it removed. Then I would tell my cousins that I am going to be staying at their house because the gas problem most likely wouldn't be fixed in one day.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I would do if I saw flamable water I would call 911 have them fix it. Then I would tell the rest of the family and made sure they didn't drink any. Then I would go next door and see if my neighboors are having problems. If I had drinken some I would go to the hospital and get the medication that I would need. Then finaly I would I would get bottled water.
ReplyDeleteIf this ever happened to my house I would first check to see if anyone in my family is sick from drinking the water. Then I would try to figure out the problem and ask my neighbors if the same thing was wrong with their water and if they knew what was causing it. Finally I would contact someone that knew how to handle the situation.
ReplyDelete-MASON SYVERSON
If my water ever caught fire from fracking I would more than likely call 911 and try to get it fixed as soon as possible, if possible. then i would tell an official which could help me with the situation by informing the government. then i would try to maybe live with a friend for a while because that seems very dangerous to have natural gas in your water and under your house.
ReplyDelete- Garrett Francis Ryan
If this was ever to happen to my house, I would first of all stop drinking the water if I ever did in the first place and make sure no one else drank any either. Next I would call a professional to help with my problem. Finially I would probably find a new drinking source for the time being, until your water isn't flammable.
ReplyDeleteIf my house ever was contaminated with natural gas, I would call 911 and see if they could help fix the problem. I would make sure that no one drinks any water because it could lead to being very sick. I would need to find a new way to get water, which would probablly be by stocking up on gallons of distilled water from the store. I think it's a bad sign if your water starts on fire. That is my response, boom goes the dynamite.
ReplyDeleteIf this ever happened at my house, I would stop drinking water from my house. I would also ask my neighbors around me to see if they have the same problem that I was. After that I would call 911. Then I would have to buy some distilled water from the store to have to drink and to use.
ReplyDelete-Nadia Fallon
If the water at my house became flammable, as the water did in the video. I would fist make sure that everyone in my house stopped drinking it, putting up signs near the foists to remind them "DON'T DRINK THIS WATER", then I would proceed to call 911 to alert them of the problem, so that they could see if there was a way to get it fixed and alert others that their water might have the same problem and be un-safe to drink. My family and I would have to buy a few gallons of safe, uncontaminated water. Lastly, I would try to keep tabs on what was going on with the water and try to get more information on why it would light up like that, and make sure that I was aware when the problem was solved so that I would know when to take down the signs and turn on the foists again!
ReplyDelete~Pascalle Nelsonn (:
If this ever happened in my house, I would tell my whole family right away. The good thing is I would probally know right away cause when I feed water to my cat every morning I dont think my kitty would be in the best mood to drink the water. So first I would tell all the members of my family to make sure they know of the problem. I would also contact my neighbors just in case they have the same problem. Then I would call 911 and make sure they know so they can inform the city that there has been problems with the water. This would be terrible all together because not only you couldnt drink the water but you would not be able to shower, showering in gas really doesnt sound that great. Also you wouldnt be able to do any other things in you house that involve water. Overall this would be a very bad situation, except for the local businesses that sell water they would be making a little cash
ReplyDeleteIf this ever happend to my house I would immediately call a gas company. Also tell my family not to drink the water until the gas company fixes the problem. I would call all the people that live around me and ask them if they have the same problem. I probably would have to go and stay with a family memeber to until the problem is fixed because I wouldnt be able to drink or take a shower or wash my hands. I wouldnt be able to do a lot of things. If the gas company says it is oaky to drink now and is safe I would remain staying in the house. Also I would find out which kind of gas it is and see and try to find if it is worth something.
ReplyDelete~ Clay Seifert
If the water in my house became flammible then I would be very mad. You can not use the water for anything and you would have to find other ways to drink water and shower. Also if you did not know it was in your water people could drink it or use it to boil and bad things could happen. I would probubly go somewhere else or talk to the company about taking it out. Untill then i would just have to live with it. There is nothing you can really do untill the water is safe again. The whole town would be affected too and if that happend bussness would be shut down and people would have to go to different places to get what they want. In anyway I think that if this happened the whole community would be affected and people would complain and be very mad. I know i would.
ReplyDeleteJoe Haas
If this were to happen in my house i would call my gas and water company to come fix the problem. And i waould be liting up my water all the time
ReplyDeleteIf this was happening to my house I would have a problem. I would report this to the gas company and make them fix it. If they did not fix it I would report it to the police and try to find out why this fracking business is bad to warn other people about it. Also I would not stay in the house. I would leave until its fixed and obviously if I were to stay I would not drink the water until I knew it was 110 percent safe.
ReplyDeleteIf were to happen in my house i would call my gas company and have them come look at it. if they didn't know what the problem is i woiuld move.
ReplyDeleteIf this happened to my house I would call the gas company and the water company and tell them the problem. This shouldn’t happen and if I had some people over and my water was like this, I would have to tell them to bring your own beverages because my water is gas. This would cost a lot of money because I would have to go and buy drinks, and for the companies to fix it. I am glad I don’t have a problem like this.
ReplyDeleteAmanda Hei
If that happened to me first I would evacuate the house and call poison control and also call the police. Then I would wait for the police and poison control to arive and make sure that the house and every thing was fixed. Then I would go into the house and make sure that the water wouldnt start on fire. So then I would buy bottled water for about three weeks so I dont get poisoned. And if for some odd reason the water kept releasing gas I would take my family and leave the house without a trace.
ReplyDeleteMaxwell Rawson
If there was a gas leak at my house the first thing i would to to preserve asmuch as possible is shut of anything that could cause a spark, that means electronics, fireplaces, etc. I would then evacuate my family from our house and make sure to have a cellphone in hand. Once my family and I are at a safe distance (to prevent creating some sort of spark) I would then proceed to call the authorities or whoever necessary to resolve the gas leak in a safe, efficient way.
